Preliminary approval to the Special Plan for building a campsite

Last 7 November 2008, the Plenary Session of Ablitas Local Council gave its preliminary approval to the Special Plan for building a campsite in the municipality.

This is the first step in approving the application to build the first luxury campsite in Navarra.

The campsite will be built on the east side of the Laguna de Lor lake, and is clearly delimited by the new plot concentration roads, with a width of nine metres, on the north and west sides, a canal and path on the east side, and the road from Ablitas to Cascante on the south side. This means that it is correctly delimited by natural elements and with double access for road traffic.

No other campsite of this kind has been planned in the Ribera de Navarra area near the Moncayo foothills, despite this area having many important tourist attractions (Bardenas Reales, Senda Viva theme park, el Bocal and its future water sports centre, Cascante spa and leisure area, Moncayo and the city of Tudela.

A design has been established that will allow for the conservation of the natural habitat, and in particular Laguna de Lor, and the centenary olive trees that grow on the campsite premises.
